The National Bank of Dubai and Emirates Bank united in 2007 to form Emirates NBD, with the headquarters of the new bank still located in the magnificent Carlos Ott-designed building overlooking the Creek. Its gold-coated glass facade reflects the real dhows sailing along the Creek, and the simple shapes of the structure are said to represent a dhow with a billowing sail. Sunset is the ideal time to appreciate its beauty.
