In the early 1900s, Dubai's trading hub was located in this historical area, which saw the development of the pearl diving industry. Spanning 1.8km along Dubai Creek, the area has been divided into two distinct sections. The first is modern, featuring buildings that look like stacked shipping containers, while the second area has an Old Dubai atmosphere, with rough-hewn facades, narrow alleyways and wind towers that have a nostalgic ambiance.
